It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in training, it was a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you simply focus on the match."

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as leader.
