Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
