Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret cult.
The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
